Riverstone Residential – Mariners Crossing – Maintenance says corroded black growth on the water heater is “suppose to look like that”

Maintenance and Office Staff refer to the black mold growth on air vents and everywhere else in Jefferson Lakes Apartments, Baton Rouge, LA as “dust”. However, they must not be of the opinion that it is “suppose to look like that” because they vacuum what growth they can from the air vents then paint over the vent cover. Katy

Getting Out As Soon as I Can, This Place Is Ridiculous

Years at this apartment: 2002 – 2010

We have lived here for nearly 8 years and this place has gotten progressively worse. The apartments units themselves are decent, but not by any stretch “luxury” as the descriptions online would have you believe. While the location is convenient, it doesn’t make up for the ridiculous rent and the absolutely insane front office staff. Since we have lived here my bedroom has had water trickling down the walls as a result of a plumbing problem in the bathroom of the unit above us not just on one occasion, but twice. The maintenance solution was to have someone come in and paint over the watermarks in my closet and bedroom. The water heater in our apartment has broke twice, and when my grandmother pointed out the corroded black growth on the top of the unit, the maintenance guy tried to tell her that it was “suppose to look like that.” Parking is also horrendous. The complex has no parking whatsoever and tenants are left to park where they can, often the end result is being towed by the shady towing company the complex has hired to stalk the complex. While we often have minor issues in the apartment, we try to deal with them as best we can because the only alternative is to speak with someone in the front office. The front office is a major reason I am leaving and why I warn anyone against living here. Although we have been here for nearly 8 years and seen several different rotations of staff in the front office, each one has been equally belligerent. Worse yet, these people are varying degrees of either irate or insane…and the current is both. I have to think that the management office, Riverstone Residential, purposefully recruits this type of person, which is why when I leave here soon I will be avoiding all complexes owned by Riverstone Residential.

Irrefutable evidence indicates that Riverstone Residential, Guarantee Service Team of Professionals, & plaintiffs’ attorney, J Arthur Smith III, must have agreed to exclude evidence that would have shown the owners of Jefferson Lakes Apartments & Riverstone Residential had knowledge of the severe MOLD INFESTATION at the complex before we moved in

“Changes in construction methods have caused US buildings to become perfect petri dishes for mold and bacteria to flourish when water is added. Instead of warning the public and teaching physicians that the buildings were causing illness; in 2003 the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform, a think-tank, and a workers comp physician trade organization mass marketed an unscientific nonsequitor to the courts to disclaim the adverse health effects to stave off liability for financial stakeholders of moldy buildings. Although publicly exposed many times over the years, the deceit lingers in US courts to this very day.” Sharon Noonan Kramer
