JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Renters at the Palisades Apartment complex say mold is overtaking their homes and making them sick.
The complex is in the 5000 block of University Blvd. Action News visited several units and saw the mold.
Renter, Beth Parry, did a home test and the result confirmed mold is in her unit.
Parry’s hair is falling out and she believes it because of the mold. She said its been in her apartment since October.
“I am very frustrated with this,” said Parry’s neighbor, Sharon Wilson.
Wilson’s apartment has mold is in her furniture, around her doorway and in her shower.
Both of the women say they’ve repeatedly asked for help from Palisades Apartment management.
The complex hasn’t moved them into a mold-free apartment or let them break their lease.
Action News went to the management office for answers, but despite a sign saying they were open, the door was locked and no one answered our repeated knocks.
Later, we spoke with a manger on the phone who said the complex is doing everything they can to accommodate renters, but she refused to answer any questions.
